The springs are strong, as they have to be in order to react to the very fast cycling of the Luger action. The original magazines with their 100 year old springs could not push a round up fast enough and the bolt would close on an empty chamber. Not so with these Mac-Gar magazines. They will feed rounds as fast as one can pull the trigger.
