I've got to admit I'm a collector of Toto music so I would have bought it anyway - here's the scoop, though: Most of the usual suspects from early Toto hits are back for this album plus guests and a new person or two. The sound is a little more driving in general (eg the title cut – Falling in Between) and the ongoing collaboration of rhythms created by Simon Phillips on drums, Steve Lukather on guitar, and neatly held together by Mike Porcaro, continue to go way beyond the typical 4/4 rock album. The Layers added by Steve Porcaro, David Paich and newcomer, Greg Phillinganese are masterful as always and vocals from Bobby Kimball spot on! Toto also brought in several guests including Chicago’s horn section for a few selections and they featured Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson on one of my favorite cuts, “Hooked”. And the recording is every bit as intense as Mindfields (possibly my favorite Toto CD.) You can bet, having Simon Phillips as the engineer, every sound that went into this CD was carefully and deliberately chosen and dynamically mastered. Toto fan or not – I was ready for some new music and this did it for me. It has lots of great rhythms, and sounds and dynamics that entertained and challenged me. And I found my (non Toto fans) saying, “Wow, what’s this?” as I played it in the background or in the car.Read full review
This is a older, wiser Toto. More world weary and introapective. But they still know how to write a good lyrics, music, and of course....hooks!!

Easily the best cd TOTO has put out since "kingdom of desire". Each song has its own direction and the writing and musicianship is remarkable!
