    Allows easy access to receiver's options...

    I purchased this remote for use with an older Onkyo TX-NR3008 picked up at a local thrift missing the original remote. I was using a universal programmable remote but found it very limited when accessing the receiver’s adjustable parameters. The rc-773m is the OEM remote for this receiver allowing for easy navigation of numerous options. I’ve not yet tried programming the remote for other devices so can’t comment. The only con against the remote so far is its back-lighting--it shuts off too quickly. This likely will become less of an issue as I gain familiarity with the button layout. Overall, very pleased with the remote.
