This Ipod holds 500 songs. The sound quality is exceptional. The size of this product is great for easy carrying and ease of use. It needed to be cleaned; especially the headphone jack plug. A little rubbing alcohol and a Q tip was all that was needed for this to sound brand new again!

The Ipod Nano 3rd Generation was a first a gift given to me some years ago. It had the simple features that I wanted, but also added a few more just for fun. Aside from the good way of handling a music library, the 3rd generation nano has a video library and even has games along with it. The added fun I mentioned before was the videos and games. The only downfall was being able to use the contacts list, and the notes. While adding contacts can be easy to do with the right programs on your computer, I was never quite able to figure out how to add notes. I would definitely buy another 3rd Generation Nano because it offers a screen to view all these features, but still manages to be small enough as to not be bothersome.
If you want to skip the entire review, here it is in a nutshell: 3rd Gen Nano vs 5th Gen Nano. Pro: Easier to hold. Better battery life, especially if left unused. Backlight will go MUCH lower-great if you like using at night(nice to the eyes!) Screen orientation is much more natural for videos and especially games-no sideways turning to view. Cheaper to buy now, even NIB as I did. Con: Only 8GB vs 16 avail in newer models. No speaker No Radio No Video Smaller screen Fewer (and duller) Colors to choose from. Not as "cool" according to my nephew! I've never liked the big HD ipods much so when the 3rd Gen iPod Nano came out in 2007, I quickly bought an 8GB version. Finally, I had video in a small, lightweight package! We all know the various features so I'll skip all that. Cut to 2009 and the new Nano has a video camera, speaker & radio in addition to all the features my old 3rd Gen has. I bought a nice shiny red 16GB Nano and gave my nano to a friend's kid. Big mistake: Although the new Nano is a big step forward, it also was (for Me) a step back. My first complaint is the horrible battery life, even after a full charge, just 15-20 minutes of music or less of games and the battery meter shows 80%. Even worse is the discharge rate when turned off, In as little as 2 weeks it would be completely dead. My old one had no such problems. The same thing happened with an exchanged unit I got from Apple. The other issue I had was the backlight: I like to sometimes listen to music in bed & I found that the back light is very limited in brightness vs the older ones. The 5th Gen remains very bright and does not dim low far enough. A bit annoying to have the bright display blasting your eyes after being in the dark for a while. Again, these are my issues your milage may vary. Personally, I did not use the radio & video is neat but not indoors so those features were not missed a whole lot. In the end, I sold my 5th gen here on eBay & later found a NIB 8 GB 3rd gen Nano. I don't miss the extra space because I don't have videos on it. Since I find the wheel much easier to control without always needing to see the display, I continue to use the Nano even though I also have a 64GB touch. Also, this is why I do not miss some missing features-my touch has a speaker & radio apps.Read full review
I hate using i-Tunes and I personally do not own an i-Pod of any sort. With that said, I really really like this version Nano. I was one of the suckers who bought this thing brand spanking new from the i-Pod Store when it first came out. My wife had mentioned how she wished she had one during one of those corny commercials during the launch. So for Christmas, I went out and paid $199 for it. Value: Would I pay that much now? No Way! However, what did I expect with something that just came out, plus it wasn't for me anyway, it was a gift for my wife and I didn't hold back. With what they are going for now on e-Bay, I wouldn't mind having one for myself. Features: I have a plethora of players that have as good resolution but with additional FM radio, dual headphone jacks, micro SD or SD expansion slots, blue-tooth, line-in, FM radio or microphone recording. Even some that will play the H264 codec. But even with the extra features many players have, the Nano has one glaring feature that I love very much; the ability to play nearly any size video. This means that I don't have to crunch down a video to specific dimensions in order to be playable like most portable players, thus giving me the flexibility to play the same video on a standard size computer screen or TV without quality loss. I thought this feature wasn't that important until I found myself wasting lots of time encoding batches of movies in WMV/AVI to find it will not play in most of my players. I have to be mindful of the resolution and size when I encode videos, but you don't have that worry with i-Pod. You can make it as small or as large as you want. You also cannot beat the size of the Nano. It's not just small, but thin and well constructed with that metal backing. It has what most players do not, rigidity. It's more sturdy than many players twice as thick. I-Tunes keeps me from being an i-Pod owner, but if I do happen to end up with one, I would get this version Nano.Read full review
This is ipod nano that i bought is very nice. I bought it because I lost my ipod shuffle and so i decided to upgrade to the ipod nano because it had a screen an I can watch movies and music videos. Scince i had it its been in very good condition and i realy like all of the features it has. But I had problems scrolling with it. If you own a ipod its possible that you would have an idea of what I am writing about. Maybe its somthing that i have to get used to, and also i dont like that the back of it scratches very easaly. But other that that its great.
