    Old but still great

    It's crazy how long this thing has stayed viable. 10 years later, still performing incredibly well. Obvious cpu bottleneck, but the price of the entire build with a good gpu is a good way to go for like a $300 gaming pc.

    Can't do better than this for a budget build, even for today's games!

    Works amazingly well. This is for an older gaming PC that I decided to upgrade. Was going to get a new motherboard and go with an AMD processor, but the price for this and the fact that I could just swap it with my core i3 530 made me jump on the i7 here. I'm running an Asus Strix GTX 960 and 4GB RAM (waiting for my 8GB set to come in the mail). Even without the required RAM, Dragon Age Inquisition runs great where my i3 would just slow to a crawl. As someone who mainly games on PC, I HIGHLY recommend saving some money and buying one of these if you're upgrading from a 1st gen core i3 on a budget. I was gonna overclock, but with turbo boost, there's no need for me. Amazing, solid processor so far!

    Great Processor

    Overlooking the inherent drawbacks to the 1156 socket and the P55 chipset it is a great all around chip which out performs the i7-920. This cpu is great for gaming, design, movie editing, you name it and it can do it.
