Worth the money.
Pro's; easy to install, works great I especially the flashing mode, easy to replace batteries without removing unit from its mount Con's; not easy to remove from mount. This is my second one in five years and the only reason I replaced it is that I snapped the locking mechanism when I tried to remove it. Larger prints for people that have bad sight

Good backup bike headlight
Cateye Opticube is a good backup headlight. Tends to be destroyed by alkaline battery leakage, particularly if bike is left hanging on wall front end down. I recommend using Ultimate Lithium Energizer AA non rechargeable cells to avoid the alkaline leakage problem. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because I have lost a few of these now when alkaline batteries leaked. These ones I just purchased were replacements. Flashing mode is great for dusk conditions. Light is not terribly bright for dark night conditions but adequate to prevent being pulled over and ticketed. I use a brighter rechargeable for main headlamp but like having the Cateye along for dusk flashing use and in case the main light is not charged or is forgotten at home.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very good enough for city streets
It is adequate for use on city streets. You can see well enough with it to avoid the potholes. On flashing you see stops signs light up several blocks away, suggesting the the unit creates visibility for you. One thing that I like about it is that it is so tiny and light, that it doesn't tend to rotate on the handlebar like many others I have used.
