Two Great Guitars!
Very good cd. Two of the world's best guitarists together in one studio. Each playing off the other and making great music. I very much recommend this to any fanf of Mark Knopfler or Chet Atkins. You won't be sorry.

This 1990 collaboration between Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler is a fine half-hour-plus of listening pleasure. Atkins, who has been admired and served as inspiration to more guitarists than any other player, sits down with Dire Straits picker/singer Mark Knopfler for some serious fingerstyle guitar sounds, covering country, pop and a little jazz with equal facility. Knopfler had done studio session work with Atkins for a few years before this CD was cut; he had once said in an interview that he would like very much to make an album with Mr. Guitar, Chet Atkins. This album has some great music on it-notably, Django Reinhardt and Stefan Grapelli's "Tears", country songwriter/singer Don Gibson's "Just One Time", Patsy Cline's "Sweet Dreams", and a very catchy song penned by Mr. Knopfler ... I could listen for hours.
Two of the greats!! I have always liked Chet Atkins style of play and was not disappointed. I have recently discovered that Mark Knopfler is much more than Dire Straits early commercial success. I enjoy, but am not an avid fan, of the twangy country sound(pedal steel guitar) but when they cut loose on solos at the breaks it does not get any better. If you like listening to exceptional guitar work then you will like this CD.Two of the greats!! I have always liked Chet Atkins style of play and was not disappointed.
