your 3d escape vehicle has arrived!!!
the great "disaster movies" made in the last 10 years all pale in comparison to "san andreas." the characters are fairly well developed - far more than the usual "disaster" fare. "the rock" delights us w/ a performance that simultaneously surprises and enthralls us, drawing us inexorably into the action before then providing - at just the right moment - that badly needed giggle or all out laugh. but the most unbelievable part of this fantastic film is the mind-blowing 3d! it is all one can do to refrain from ducking and swaying to avoid the realistic crumbling architecture, or reach for a hand grab when the chopper tilts to "tip the hat." its the best 3d i've seen yet, but have only seen about 30 so far. watched this film twice in first 24 hours, not counting loaning it to one friend and playing a few favorite scenes for another. i will be viewing this anytime i need a good escape vehicle. loved it!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Rock-on!
Action from the start. Buildings and bridges collapsing all around them, but that ginormous tsunami wave was awesome! There were a few scenes that didn't make any sense like; the little girl all by herself on the Dam and a real Search & Rescue team member would have gone from roof top to roof top, loading as many people as he could and he didn't do that. But all-in-all it still felt very real and scary. I can only imagine what the Big 1 will be like when it does happen and hope the Rock is there to save everyone. Just like looking into the future

Millions die, no dead bodies
I enjoyed it in 3D. I thought the CGI disasters were the best I've ever seen. But I noticed a very strange thing: despite the greatest disaster the world has ever seen, there are no dead bodies in this film. All though I am not a big fan of “THE ROCK” I am, however a big fan of “3-D”, that, sad to say, seems to be becoming a dying breed.
