    Well Made!

    This is the second time I bought a Kidde and it hooked up easily.The connector was the same and it fit into the same flange. The back up batteries are easy to replace without having to remove the unit like the last unit. So far, everything seems to be alright and very happy with the product.

    Nice Combined Features!

    It’s nice to have a smoke and carbon monoxide detector all in one plus it’s the newest version of the smoke only doctor that was already installed in my house. These all communicate with one another so when one goes off they all will sound and say fire, fire, fire! And you can’t beet the price for these! My original smoke detectors had a 7 year life but I think these have a 10 year life.

    Good direct replacement for Kidde units

    Replacement for my previous Kidde detectors that had reached end-of-life after seven years. Direct replacement using the same connector and mounting plate. I installed both photoelectric and ionization types for better protection. Only rated this with four stars because there are newer, better, detectors now but they were out of stock for an unknown amount of time. I bought these because I needed to have something installed. These aren't bad, just not the best available now.

    AA batteries, front load, ten year life, AC powered

    Front load battery compartment, and it uses AA batteries instead of less common 9 volt battery. The chirps indicating end of battery life are annoying, but from what I read those units with the 10 year sealed batteries can't be trusted. (If they go off when they're not supposed to, you can't turn them off, even if you put them in a bucket of water! These AC wired units also last ten years, instead of the previous generation 7 year units. Disadvantage is that either they turn on, or they are off, there is no digital indication of CO in the house that could eventually set off the alarm.
