Great value, just what I wanted for a SOHO programmable router

Clean, functional, looks like new. Works perfectly. I needed a flexible router for several reasons - I wanted to learn how to program routers of this type, in a few months it's likely I'll have two internet sources, but being in 'the sticks' neither are 100% dependable, so I wanted a router that could gracefully failover between the two, and I wanted to direct some LAN traffic, but not all, through a VPN interface in the router. I'm pretty sure the ER3 can do all of that, and it's going to be instructive to learn how. The ER3 is low enough cost that if I can't do it, or it won't do it, I am not out a lot, and it's capable enough that I won't saturate it if it DOES work.

  • Great router

If you want just the router, then it's for you. It's fast, small footprint. It's reliable, don't have to reboot one a week like other modem/router from the cable company. Running cool, can be mounted on the wall, quiet. Great for me so far, used together with Arris 6190 to get 230 Mbps down and 25 Mbps up.

  • Excellent prosumer device!

Great quality device for the price point! That being said, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for everyone because of the technical knowledge required to set it up, I would definitely recommend it to people who are interested in gaining more control over their home or small business network. Much nicer than my old router/gateway and way nicer than my internet providers gateway. (generally a low bar there) With my old router I was seeing frequent disconnects and speeds that wildly would vary. Then after installing and configuring the Ubiquiti ERL-3, my network reliability was greatly improved.

  • reliable & dependable

I have used one of these for years. Very reliable, runs uninterrupted for months at a time and does what it is supposed to to. Fairly easy to configure. I had to replace the power supply once on the older one. The newer one came with an upgraded supply. Recommended.

  • Awesome equipment

Really well designed equipment. Allows the use of command line set up or ubiquiti web ui For most people the wizards will suffice, for others , they can dig deeper and excersize the enterprise level feature set
