About this product

Product Information

Sweetwater, led by Nancy Nevins (Amy Jo Johnson, TV's FELICITY), was the band that opened Woodstock in 1969. Shortly thereafter, just as they seemed poised for stardom, Nevins was in a terrible auto accident that caused her to fade from the spotlight and spiral into drug and alcohol addiction. Thirty years later, a television reporter (Kelli Williams) sets out discover what happened to Nevins.

This film chronicles the rise and fall of a Fusion band known as "Sweetwater" from Woodstock in the 1960s. The band was fronted by lead vocal Nansi Nevins. If you watch this movie from the actual tape rather than simply seeing it on TV and recording it, you'll see why the film wasn't originally released on DVD - the actual movie was recorded purely on videotape, and the production values show it. And of all the VH-1 films made, the editing with this one is the sloppiest; more than once, you can see that transitions from one cut to the next are over-trimmed and compacted a bit too much.
