  • Must have book for intermediate poker players

This book is great but not for beginners. Lof of important concept which explains what works and doesnt in the different forms of poker. I only play no limit so some of the stuff here is of no use for me but most of the concepts can be applies to NL Holdem. Defnitely a good book. Sklansky knows a lot about poker and he is the best authority on the theory of poker. Apply these concepts and improve your earnings, make the right moves and inflate your bankroll. Do not buy it if you are not a serious player. Assuming you are, you can benefit a lot. The chapters on the fundamental theorem of poker and mathematical expectations are great. I havent yet finished reading but so far so good. But, if you dont like math and dont want to learn the mathematical concepts of poker and stick to strategy ...

  • It's a classic.

This is advanced poker theory. While this book will certainly make already good poker players even better poker players, it won't do anything for beginners or intermediate players. This book addresses a lot of the theoretical underpinnings of the game that are rooted in intermediate maths and advanced game play psychology which will not mean much to people whose poker game isn't "there yet". Before buying this book, you must be honest with yourself about where your game is. You wouldn't expect 3rd Graders to enjoy reading Faust no more than you can expect beginning or intermediate players to really grasp this book. With that said, if your game is "there"- if you are already a consistently winning online or B&M poker player- this book is one of the few "must reads" in the genre of poker ...

  • The theory of poker = sound advice

Great book for anyone interested in the game of poker. This is a good primer on poker. This book is easy to read and it has a lot of sound advice on how to play this game. It has given me a basic knowledge of the game; which I can use in my monthly card game. The theory is quite simple and once explains opens up a whole new insight to how the game can be played.

  • If you are a student of Poker, you need this information.

Older style attitude on Holdem play. I identify with that.
