    Underrated comedy

This is a movie that I think flew under the radar for a lot of people. While it's not like some peak comedy masterpiece or anything, it's better than it looks. There are a lot of laughs had here, Will Ferrell and Jon Heder are a ton of fun, as are Will Arnett and Amy Poehler.

  • Great Popcorn Movie - Ferrell & Heder Come Through !!!!

Who would have thought it; "The Cutting Edge" (1992) romantic drama (Moira Kelly and D.B. Sweeney) as bickering would-be Olympic Figure Skaters could ever provide a template for a Will Ferrell comedy? And yet it is all there in the spectacularly silly laugh riot "Blades of Glory" The bitter enemies who soften when they are forced to work together, the wealthy father pushing his child to win the gold, the rival team that threatens the hopefuls' dreams, the dedicated coach, and the unprecedented maneuver that will either surely win the competition or maim or even kill one of the partners. Talk about your miracles on ice. Somehow the screenwriters have taken a love story and utterly transformed it. - LOL "Napoleon Dynamite's" (Jon Heder), is the rich kid Jimmy MacElroy. In his peacock ...

  • GLORY ??

I liked Anchorman and Ricky Bobby, but I laughed the most during Blades of Glory. And I wasn't alone. The whole theater erupted over and over again. Will Ferrell makes you laugh, plain and simple. Whether he uses body movements or facial expressions, it is hard to keep from cracking up. Jon Heder does a pretty good job as the straight man and I finally see him as something other than Napoleon Dynamite. Jenna Fischer from the NBC show The Office is cute as a button at times and smoking hot in others like the bedroom scene. I was going to wait to catch this one on DVD, but with the majority of critics liking it (who rarely like this kind of film), I knew there was something more than the same tired jokes we are all used to. Catch this one in theaters and be prepared to leave with a laughter ...

  • An amusing movie, but not for the collection

Will Farrel and Jon Heder have a particular type of humor that people either find funny or not. They remained true to their style in this movie, so if you liked previous movies then you will like this one. If you didn't like them before, don't waste your time here. Will plays Chazz, a sexed up, drunk up, in your face skater that makes his routine up as he goes. Jon plays Jimmy, a dainty, effeminate, picture perfect skater who plans everything out to the impossible degree. The two actors work very well together and pull off a perfect "fire and ice" comedy. Like most opposites, each character actually has a little of the other in himself: Chazz has the ultimate hairbrush and Jimmy scoots across the ice on his bare chest. The slap-stick act is balanced by the spoofs on the professional ...

  • Will Ferrell does it again!

Just watched the movie last night and it was great! If you are a fan of Will Ferrell's you have to at least see this movie once. I'm not sure that it is really worth buying, because the re-watchability of this one I'm a little skeptical about. Most of the funny parts have to do with the difficulty that two men have with skating with each other, being that they hate one another. There are a lot of great cameo's by some former and current skaters. I thought that the movie wasn't quite as gut splitting like some of Will Ferrell's other movies (Talladaga Nights, Elf) but it did keep me laughing all the way through. Buy it if you are a huge fan, otherwise I would suggest renting this one first!
