NEW EDITED VERSION BORAT IS NOT GOOD

This version is a censored version of the original film... Really took a lot away. The removed scenes are in the extra features of the disc... But their removal from the actual film does great damage to the experience.

  • Borat

A very entertaining movie if you like your humor on the crude and vulgar side. They simply copied what the late great Andy Kauffman invented and performed back in the 1970's, the innocent, naieve and "backwards" foreigner in America routine. The difference being is Kauffman did it with class and Borat does it with vulgarity and with a different accent. They mix the Borat character with un-suspecting American citizens and made a movie and a story out of this. The Borat character travels across the United States in an effort to learn our culture to better his country and to seek out his new found love, Pamela Anderson. He falls in love with Anderson after watching a re-run episode of "Bay Watch" in his hotel room. Anderson makes a cameo appearance toward the end of ...

  • Borat

If your sense of humor runs off the edge now and then, you will laugh until you cry at this movie. Similiar to laughing when you know you shouldn't, you will see scenes that are so bizarre you will have to laugh. The basic premise of this movie was that a man, from eastern Europe, wants to make a documentay about the American culture. The people in this movie were led to believe that they were in a documentary that would only be played in the directors country. Using the guise of being a foreigner and lacking skill in English, he asks questions and does things that would be totally unacceptable except that his unknowing actors are trying to be polite to the crude references he makes. Apparently, there were many people ticked off that they were taken advantage of. He made the comment ...

  • Laugh...but not too much.

Quite often a movies success is dictated by the era it was released. This movie is no exception. I'm currently on the fence with Borat. On one hand it has it's genius moments and really does get you laughing. On the other, I realized that this movie is completely making fun of me and my country, the USA. And right now, in a post 9/11 world my sense of humor is wearing thin on the subject. Seems that everyone is getting their kicks in while a country is down, even by some of our own ungreatful citizens. Had this movie come out before 9/11 I'd be able to laugh without a second thought. But it bothers me that the whole film was edited to make Americans look like nothing more than uptight blue bloods, ignorant rednecks and criminal minorities. Not once did it ever show a ...

  • Funny, Raunchy, Bold, and Disturbing At the Same Time!

This movie gets laughs based on the shock factor. I spent a good portion of the viewing time with my eyes- and mouth- wide open in total disbelief. It is a not-for-the-kids comedy that depicts a man behaving as I'm sure a lot of us might- if double-dared. Borat does and says things that most everyone has wanted to at some point or other, but never would in a million years because of "society" and legal ramifications. This movie is hillllarious, if you like crude and offensive humor and seeing people in unbelievable situations. I personally liked it, and found it refreshing that someone would have the audacity to make such a movie- give it a view and see what you think!
