Only a few bands can put together music like this, with a mix of bass, drums and guitar all playing together in long evolving melodies- one of the songs seems to add new riffs that blend in so well they could have stood on their own as major parts of most bands songs, but you don't hear them until you're already 10 minutes into the song. And Jambi, the solo has one of the best uses of wah/voice like tones I've ever heard, and the vocals are great. A few songs never seem to really get off the ground, but that can happen- this is tool- I still give it 5 stars, as it always seems to be near the top of the stack of CD's in my car.
Great music. Cool cd cover with 3-D glasses. Disc and box were in excellent condition.

from the fast breaking opener to the subtle undertow we've all come to expect from Maynard and the boys, this album rocks. With a subtle and fresh sound, they recreate themselves while staying true to what is expected from a tool album. Dark, gothic, and yes, even dangerous, this album seems to have more energy than the last, yet pushes with the same eerie style through the speakers and holds you tight while you check under the bed; don't turn the lights off, just turn the stereo up and invite someone over to watch your back. A+ effort. A must have for any Tool fan and a good place to start for a newcomer; "Undertow" still holds the title, but this album can definately hold its own.
Might not be Tool's best, but definitely very emotional due to several songs relating to the death of Maynard's mother a couple of years prior to the release of this project.

Trully a reflection of the times we're living in.A deep psycidellic bluesy look into the darker side of mans ever changing ever perversely corrupt physiological being.Twisting and turning it's way through the labyrinth of my psyche.Alot of my freinds don't appreciate entire album as well as i do.They mainly like the radio play'd tracs.Although it don't hold a candle to AENIMA Tools ultimatly best album yet. (thats my opinion any way) But on the other hand it' nearly impossable for an artist to out do a masterpeice.Overall it's not just an album it's an experience and the 3D discography on the CD booklet is very unique and original.I've never seen or heard of any creation like it in the history of music.Album art seems to of been a thing of the past but Tool hes brought it back in a big way.I bought this album because i'm a big fan of TOOL and i've got everything they've ever released in the past.I basicly bought it hearing but only one trac on the radio. Not only that but i've been waiting for years for a new album from TOOL.Read full review
TOOL is AWSOME- don't get me wrong.. but this cd is NO Anemia or Undertow. They must have amped up on the Hash to some super hash..cause damn.even i got high to see if it helped-wasn't high enough.. They say it took 5 years? more like 3 months and 4 years of jerking off with millions of dollars... As the music goes- its "complex" in a crappy way.. too much babble and nothing rhymes.. wtf happened to poetry? this is poor stucture alltogether. Number 7-8 i have to say are awsome.. but even so- this is chaos recorded with no structure of song.. a great idea that didn't display in sound. the "trip" is lost. someone should try a new drug- may i suggest salvia x30..woah!
Audiophile recording. This cd rocks! The percussion in most of these songs hit hard.

You know immediately upon hearing the new TOOL CD, "10,000 Days" that you are in for a wild ride. Simply put, this CD ROCKS! A must listen for any aspiring rock musician, especially for drummers. Tight riffs between bass and drums, excellent guitar work on top and the vocals finish it up. This could be their finest work yet. A couple of the tracks are spacy & dark, a bit slow at times, but that is TOOL. Time signatures keep changing and you never know which direction the band is going to motor. All in all, this is a CD you should own. In my opinion, it is money well spent. Oh, and what a killer CD jacket and insert! Again, nothing but the best from TOOL. Don't download these songs = contribute to TOOL. If any band deserves proceeds from their hard work and musicianship, it is TOOL. Buy the CD.Read full review
Tool continues their audio assault on mankind with yet another masterpiece. Very few bands can accomplish such greatness, create their own genre and be masters at marketing themselves. They have earned a seat at the table of legends with - Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and Zeppelin.

Although I rate this album as excellent, it is no match for Lateralus. That being said, this is the standout hard rock album for 2006. The amazing Vicarious starts it out, and it rips into those that watch the world going down the tubes via CNN etc. Another heavy rocker follows with Jambi. What an amazing rythym these guys are able to conjure! I found the Wings for Marie combo to be one of the weakest of all Tool songs, but I see that others disagree. It's interesting in parts, but not for 17 minutes! The Pot is another hard-rocking classic Tool great with typical outstanding guitar and bass guitar work. Lipan is a typical Tool filler. Lost Keys / Rosetta Stoned is another combo (15 minutes) but contrary to Wings for Marie, it ends too quickly! Wow! Have fun following the time signature changes in this one! What amazing imagination these guys have... Intension is a slow-down, but keeps you interested. Then the existential Right in Two essentially finishes off the listener with its profound lyrics and typical Tool rythym. The closest thing to a ballad you'll ever get from Tool. Viginti Tres is a spooky ending that I typical skip, as it isn't really a song as much as it's a slow ride into hell (or heaven - take your pick). I rank this below Lateralus and Aenima, but still above almost everything else done by any other hard-rockers. TOOL IS IN A LEAGUE BY THEMSELVES.Read full review
