About this product

Product Information

Captains of the City Streets is another trip into the world of the legendary Cat Club of Greenwich Village. Two adventurous young catsSinbad and the Dukeare best friends who share a "trampish love of the free and easy life." They travel together, away from the tall buildings of the north, in search of a home where they can practice the skip and shuffle of their boxing technique. With luck, they find themselves proud residents of their very own homean abandoned shack in an overgrown garden. Food is scarce until one man, an old sea captain new to the neighborhood, notices them and becomes their "Master of the Supper Nook." When the duo follow their new Master home, they witness one of the first meetings of the famous Cat Club. Sinbad and the Duke decide they don't need the "rules and obligations" of membership in any club; but as they join in its business and frolics, they realize that perhaps the Club needs them. Ready for any challenge, Sinbad and the Duke, the Captains of the City Streets, charm the Cat Club's admirers with their free spirits and "nifty" street smarts, as they grow up and ultimately find friendship and a place where they belong.

Book arrived on time. The wrong dust jacket was on the book, but the seller was very nice and immediately offered return or partial credit. Very easy to work with this seller. $10 shipping for a hardback seemed a little pricey although it’s been a while since I’ve mailed a book. Thanks for a great transaction.

The book showed wear, but nothing that I wouldn't have done myself over the course of reading it. It just shows that it was good enough that someone else took a lot of time with it because of it's message. I'm pleased. Ordinarily I would have protested the shipping, but the sellers deducted the cost from the book's value, so I figured it all worked out and I have a good bible study book for show for it all. Thanks

When my ordered book didn’t show up, I texted. I got a prompt response and they sent a replacement which I received in a timely manner. I was impressed with their service.

  • A TIMELESS CLASSIC!

I loved the Jenny Linsky "Cat Club" series when I was a little girl, and 40 years later now my daughter is hooked on these books! They are a timeless classic and easy to read, with cute and creative illustrations throughout. If you love cats, you'll love all of the Jenny Linsky books. "Captains of the City Streets" is another whimsical chapter in the adventures of the Cat Club cats. A great read and highly recommended!
