About this product

Product Information

Sporting beautiful cartoon-like graphics from the 1991 animated series and an offbeat jazz soundtrack, Taz-Mania is a platform game suffering from short, unimaginative levels and an incredible number of blind jumps. Players control the whirling dervish through six multi-staged areas of jumping and spinning action, from an abandoned mine to a mouse-infested jungle. In addition to his patented spin attack, Taz can throw items at enemies and belch fire after consuming red peppers. While enemies are few and far between, hazards such as quicksand, slippery icebergs, and bottomless pits make for a devilish mix of trial-and-error gameplay.

    Taz-Mania isn't perfect, but it's darn good.

Taz-Mania is a classic game for the Genesis and a must-have for your collection. I would give this game 5 stars, except the controls are not very good. However, if you get used to the controls, you'll still enjoy this game. The graphics are great and it's just like looking at a cartoon. Taz-Mania is still pretty cheap, so get it now, before the value goes up.

It's okay for the right price.

I played this back when I was a kid so me getting this again was based off of pure nostalgia. I;m not saying it's a bad game, its a cool platformer with nice graphics. Its a good game for one play through from beginning to end.

  • great game!! perfect

The plot of the game was actually a twist on the usual "Save the World" story setting for many platform/adventure games. One evening, Hugh Tazmanian Devil was telling his three children (Taz, his sister Molly and his brother Jake) an intriguing tale: Once there were huge giant seabirds that laid giant eggs which could feed a family of Tazmanian devils for over a year. There are also legends that somewhere along the island of Tasmania, there is a Lost Valley, where the giant seabirds still nest. Taz becomes fascinated by the prospect of the potentially large omelet and leaves in search for one of those giant eggs. Thus, the player must direct Taz across various stages in search for the Lost Valley and its Giant Bird.

  • Childhood Memories

This game brings back memories of the good ol' days. Not a great game, but a fun game. Nostalgia more than anything of days when there was no care in the world but my video games and I. Ahhhhhh I love it.
