    Digitizing old family tapes.

    I purchased this camcorder in order to digitize the family analogue hi8 tapes as my original Sony camcorder broke. Had to buy a FireWire card for my desktop, but this model camcorder worked really well for me. I had previously tried using composite and svideo to digitize my tapes but the quality using FireWire is much better and easier.
