Babylon's Ashes is a good continuation of the Expanse Series. It has great character development and is hard to put down. I hope to finish the last 100 pages tonight.

The first books of this series had the intrigue of what the alien race was up to. As the stories continued they seemed more and more written for the small screen. It's just turned into the humans just having a dog fight and this storey is old as science fiction. Hopefully the last two books while bring some of the wonder back. I consider this volume just filler material. Just people seeing who has the biggest one.

Not the best book in the series, but certainly not the worst either. That said, even the worst book in The Expanse series is of higher quality than 95% of what’s out there. This volume follows the continued exploits of the Roci crew, after the events of Nemesis Games, the UN/Mars/The Belt’s responses to the actions by Marcos, Filip’s development into his own man, and the plight of Earth post-attack. Some absolutely essential storylines here that set the tracks for the following 30+yrs. exceptionally well done and well thought out. The actions, growth, and heartbreak experienced by Avasarala and Pa are worth the read alone, and they represent maybe a quarter of the book’s plot. Highly recommended.
