    Elvis' last concert album, good mostly for completists

    This is a apparently a reasonably representative sample of Elvis' concerts in 1977, shortly before he died. He basically trashes a lot of his big hits, mumbling a few words of each verse to get through them as quickly as possibly. Hound Dog is particularly bad; he does it in about a minute. The newer or more obscure songs fare a lot better and show that when Elvis put some effort in, he could still sing as well as he ever did. There are also several pointless bits of fans gushing over him, at a time when it was no longer particularly justified. This is a 2 LP set that fits on a single CD and runs about 70-75 minutes, and there's some good stuff here, but like many double albums it should have been reduced to a single LP before it was released.

    Elvis' Last Concert Album

    I have this on LP and wanted this to finish my Elvis CD collection. I enjoy the album and while this isn't the best concert album, it is certainly worth having for any Elvis fan.
