    These have been around for a long time. Quality carbon steel at a decent price and they're beautiful knives, but my particular one in this instance appeared more like a second that slipped through QC, but this isn't indicative of normal condition of these knives. These have been in constant use in the USA since the 1830's and there's so much to like about them.

    That knife is not a second. We are an Authorized distributor. I have noticed that some of the plastic protectors look scratched and hazy, but nothing wrong with the knives themselves. Thanks for your support.

    An Edged American Classic

    This is a really mice copy of the original Green River knife of the early American frontier during the fur trader era. Blade is easy to sharpen and a handy size for just about every chore you can imagine which requires a knife. It is an all around multi use knife equally capable of skinning game or as an ad hoc steak knife in a pinch. It is also a fine knife for defense. This is my second Russell Green River knife since I purchased my first one back in 1981. As a backpacker's knife it has no peer for the money and will satisfy even the most discerning user with its all around effectiveness.

    Great, inexpensive ,camp knife

    I really like this knife. Excellent for camp use. Works really well for food prep. This is carbon steel, so you need to take care of it. 2 things I would like to see changed. An extra 1/2" of handle length, and a little harder temper in the blade. It's about 55 hardness....bump it up to 59 to keep an edge longer. I sanded the handle, and sharpened the spine. Those are the only changes I made. If I loose it, I will definitely buy another.

    Best value for a carry knife ever.

    For the person that wants a everyday carry knife, to be used as a knife not a pry tool, shovel, or axe, this is the best value you can buy. They are light, have good steel, are easy to sharpen, and a very decent non-slip grip. I've used one for over 20 years and have given more than a dozen as gifts. The short K-Bar sheath fits them well, but has no metal safety at the tip.
