Reliable brand name, lots of storage at an affordable price
Since I already have a Toshiba drive, I went in search of another one because I love its performance. I have one of these for my business files (which I also have backed up using a paid service) for easy retrieval and I have one for fun things like music and photos. It's a great way to clean off your computer's hard drive. My laptop gets very sluggish when it gets too full of pictures and files so a drive this size is essential. This particular drive may not be the least expensive available but I trust the brand name enough to want to purchase it again if I need another one. I of course turned to eBay because even after comparison pricing, I found the better deal on eBay.Since I already have a Toshiba drive, I went in search of another one because I love its performance. Absolutely a tech guys best friend and solution to short capacity drives.
Honestly, I would've given this product a full 5 stars just for its price. I bought the 1TB Toshiba External Drive on sale for $60 bucks, cant beat that. Once I received the product I had to reformat the drive to work with my Macbook and now I use it to store photos, videos, and music since my internal drive only has a 320GB capacity this little portable guy works like a charm. Although it hasn't let me down yet I'm backing up all my stuff to another drive to see how long the Toshiba drives last, knock on wood.Honestly, I would've given this product a full 5 stars just for its price. Affordable and reliable.
Given the price of USB 3.0 drives out there right now, the Toshiba Canvio Basics USB 3.0 1TB drive gives you a great value for the money. The price is just right, and sits happily between the 500GB and 1.5TB versions and provides the best the best GB to dollar value at the time of writing this. The drive is also completely USB powered, meaning no extra power adapters to run this thing. However, I have heard of Mac users encountering issues with these drives, which may need a USB Y-cable for a bit of extra power. I did expect the USB 3.0 to be a bit faster than it is, and it does slightly lag behind my other USB 3.0 devices, but fortunately there's not too big of a disparity thus far. I'd definitely recommend this line of external hard drives for anybody who is looking for an ... very comparable price and good product!!
This product is good and easy to use. Much better than my original Western Digit hard drive. This one is small and light weight. Also quick speed. Hope can last longer. My last one only lasted 2 years.

Just what I needed at a great price, working great and arrived fast.
The drive arrived promptly and is working great. It is a much needed add on to my work laptop :)The transfer speed is quick and the small and lightweight drive is wonderful - its about the size of my phone and I barely notice its here --- until I need something I have stored on it. Just the way an external hard drive should work.
