Excellent Swimming Pool Sand Filter Pump
I am so happy with this pump and sand filter! This pump should have came for the pool I have when I first bought it. The original pump was weak and you had to run it all the time along with cleaning the filter out every 3 days. This new pump does a excellent job keeping the pool clean by only running 4 hours a day. No more cleaning out the paper filter anymore. I recommend this pump and sand filter pump to anyone looking to replace a old pump and paper filter style unit. I had to buy a 50lb bag of silica sand at my local swimming pool supply store that was only $16. SPP good, sand filter/pump horrible
When I received this item, I watched the DVD that came with it and followed all directions to the letter. Wham! had to vacuum up sand all over the pool. Called SPP and the sent me a new one and I sent back the other one. Followed all directions with the replacement. Wham am now vacuuming up sand out of the pool. Took the sand out (#20) and took out the laterals and checked them. They all seemed to be in good order. When I un-screwed them from the hub though, there was sand on the threads of the lateral and there should not have been. Put everything back together and Wham! more sand in the pool.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent filter pump
The pump is really great, however be aware that the new pump uses 1 1/2" hose and some of the pools like mine have an 1 1/4" hose so you will need to purchase a couple "b" type adapters from Intex so that the pump will connect up.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Love it
This pump and filter are a must if your pool came with a cartridge filter. It saves time and money. It moves water sooo much better than cartridge filters. Also Aerates the water. Honestly not sure what the significance of that is but I like it. The timer is another sweet feature it can truly appreciate. The Maintenance kit is also a great product installs easily to your filter system so you don’t have to pump water into your pool in order to clean it. Far superior product to the pool vac that came with our Coleman power steel 18x48 swim vista. The fact that these products were sold as a package really sold me. Easy set up. Works great.
I bought this for my 15x48 Intex pool, as I was told the filter that comes with the pool is not good enough. It was easy to set up, hooked right up to the pool and the operation is smooth and quiet. I gave it 4 stars because a lot of parts that are mentioned in the instructions are not included with the pump. Had I known this ahead of time, I could have ordered those parts at the same time. Great little filter!
I bought this to replace the paper cartridge system that was almost inadequate for an 18' above ground pool. This system was easy to assemble and set up. It really moves the water and the vacuum hose actually works like it should now. I was able to clean the pool, back wash, and continue cleaning in no time.
