A bit big
I originally bought some of these for my can lights on my back patio. The body of the bulb is too big to fit. I was however, able to fit them into the overhead can lights in our kitchen. I have other JBL Bluetooth mini-speaker products and the sound quality of these bulbs is alright, but not quite what I expected from JBL. At lower volume they sound alright, but the start to sound "tinny" at higher volume. Overall, they are a novel concept and our guests are amazed. But beware.... Mine do not work when "dimmed". Great Idea, poorly executed.
Bluetooth connectivity and Singled app controls seem to be hit and miss. It will show "connected" under my bluetooth menu, but am unable to control lights or sound. Restarting the app or manually turning the lights on and off to "reboot" seems to do the trick. Do not expect these to have quality sound. I purchased them more for ambient fill anyway. Even with the preset equalizer settings, they sound very flat. The audio will not work if the lights are on at the same time in recessed lighting applications. I have tried cans from 1980s and newly purchased cans. Both have the same results of audio cutting out. Bare housings do just fine.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
