Pretty but not functional
Ordered this knife set for a Christmas present. Item shipped very fast and actually arrived much earlier than expected. For a knife set that cost a little over a hundred dollars I didn't have the highest expectations of overall quality and performance but fit the style and aesthetic that I was looking for. The knife set arrived with each individual knife wrapped in plastic with only a tip protector and then all of the knives bundled in bubble wrap. The knives are coated in an oil to prevent rusting and will have to be cleaned before use. overall quality is fine, they appear to be well made and the coloring on the handles looks nice. I did have two initial areas of dissatisfaction. First, there is a few spots on one of the knives where the damascus is already delaminating and I can ... They wouldn't even cut their way out of the plastic/ bubble wrap that they were packaged in. I will make an attempt at sharpening them but at this point they are useless for any type of cooking scenario.
