The Garmin eTrex Vista H is a handheld waterproof GPS receiver ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. This Garmin GPS receiver offers an LCD backlit display screen that measures 2.1 inches by 1.1 inches. Additional features include a built-in marine point database as well as an America’s Highways Basemap. Offering 24 MB of internal memory, the Garmin eTrex Vista H allows the user to add new routes via the USB interface. The Garmin GPS receiver includes an on-board barometric altimeter and electronic compass to ensure greater accuracy. Furthermore, this waterproof GPS receiver offers 18 hours of power using just two AA batteries, ensuring users can take it with them on extended treks without needing a large battery supply. Weighing in at a mere 5.3 oz, this Garmin GPS receiver is lightweight yet durable. WAAS enabled, the GPS unit offers a positioning accuracy within 10 feet. The high-sensitivity receiver provides the accurate positioning and functions even in canyons and dense foliage.

    Smaller than my older garmin, more features

    Package arrived in a timely matter. I am still working with the GPS functions. It is small so it fits into my compass case with the compass. That was a great benefit to me for packing purposes. To date pleased with the product.

    After many years this is not an improvement from older models.

    I would not recommend buying the Garmin Vista H. A few years ago I purchased a Garmin Vista Summit. It came with a holder to put the gps in, plus it came with a Topo maps cd. The Vista H does not. Plus the calendar date is incorrect on the Vista H and you have to go to Garmin website to download an update. You cannot use Windows 10 so you must find an older computer to use. So the Vista H is really not as good as the years old Vista Summit. I wish I had not purchased.

    Not what I was expecting.

    When I spend 25 dollars for a GPS to take with me when kayaking, I am not expecting much. When I placed the AA batteries into this unit and booted it up I was quite surprised. Not only does it feature tide charts and fishing locations, but the ability to use to do geocaching! Now I will not only carry it out on the water, but pretty much anywhere else I go as well.

    It would have been better if there had been any instruction with it. I had to go on line and print off 50 pages. I would have much preferred a quick guide.

    Older Garmin GPS

    This unit is somewhat out dated, but still very useful, for being able to mark places and find them later. Simple to use, not too bad on batteries, lightweight, accurate. And the price is great. Originally these units sold for $300.
