THE TERMINAL stars Hanks as Viktor Navorski, who is stranded in JFK airport indefinitely after his home country suffers a revolution in his absence. Also inspired by a true story, Spielberg uses the airport setting and Viktor's dilemma as a microcosm of the immigrant experience in America.
