For the farmer, the laborer, the average breadwinner, life was an unremitting hardship. This segment of the populace was exploited or lived in the shadow of total neglect. And youth had no voice.     This book is a MAJOR reality check!

    I read it when it first came out in the mid 1970s, when people were complaining about pollution, crime, school problems, unhealthy foods, etc. They longed for the Good Old Days when life was "simpler". This book will give the reader a whole new appreciation for technology, as well as hope for the future!
