    incredible value for a nice tube sound with bite. i use it for voice overs and singing jingles etc. i do tons of automobile spots and I never turn this mic off. it's been on for over two years and sounds just like it did the day I plugged it in. 250 bucks is not much to spend for the quality of the product. I actually have 4 of these mics at two studios just in case something does happen so I can replace and go again.

    I think I found my mic

    I am on a constant search for the "right" microphone for voice-over and broadcast and I think I may have found it. I have various microphones priced up into the $800 dollar range and this is my first "tube" mic which was relatively inexpensive. The difference was immediately noticeable. After reading many reviews, I found that many MXL V69 owners recommended switching out the installed Chinese tube, so I replaced mine with an NOS Mullard 12AT7 and immediately fell in love. The warmth and dynamic range outshines the higher end dynamic mics I have in my locker. It's not a Neumann, but for the price, it "sings".

    THIS IS A TUBE MIC. IT IS MAINLY FOR VOCALS. THERE ARE MIC COMPARASONS WITH OTHER TUBELESS MIC'S ON THE INTERNET YOU CAN LISEN TO. THERE IS DEFINATELY A DIFFERANCE. SOLD NEW WITH 7-PIN CABLE AND POWER SOURCE IT SELLS FOR 250.00 FROM MXL. I GOT MINE USED FOR 120.00 AND I BOUGHT THE POWER BOX AND CABLE NEW AS THEY DO WEAR OUT.IF YOUR DOING VOCALS OR GUITARS DON'T PASS UP THIS DEAL. THIS MIC WILL HOLD IT'S VALUE EVEN YEARS LATTER BUT I DOUBT YOU WILL SELL IT. TRULY FOR THE PRICE I SHOULD HAVE GIVEN IT 5 STARS. ONE UP GRADE I DID DO WAS TO REPLACE THE TUBE WITH A RUSSIAN MULLARD 12AT7 VACUME TUBE AS FOUND IN THE MORE EXPENSIVE MXL 600.00 GENESIS 1 AND 2.
