Great Movie about Survival and the Extras well worth watching.

Great Story about the Will To Survive Under Horrendous Conditions and Horrible Circumstances. I don't normally watch the Extra Features but I would highly recommend the 3 offered here. The first two have some overlap but you should see both as they each contain differences that are worth while.

  • Gripping, True Story of Determination & Courage

Mountaineering by its very nature is a risky activity, made more so by the ever-present interest among its practitioners to do something new, something harder, or something more remote and extreme. Its history is replete with accidents, and demonstrations of personal courage to manage their consequences. The harrowing experience of Joe Simpson and Simon Yates on Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes holds a special place in that history, and the DVD version of Touching the Void does an admirable job conveying their story to an audience that may or may not know anything about mountaineering. There are readily-available sources that cover the synopsis and essence of their adventure for those not yet familiar with it, and it needn't be recounted here. The film itself is a mix of interviews ...

  • Touching the Void

I enjoyed this so much. I love documentaries and movies, and it was 2 in 1 It had element of danger, perseverance and the human strength physically and mentally that we all admire in people. Also leaves you wondering what you would do in the same situation so it hits home to our own strengths and weaknesses. you are on both sides of the coin. hard to take sides with either man. just a great movie and so well filmed and documented! I actually bought this for a brother of mine for his birthday. I know he too will love it!

  • Touching the Void

Probably the best climbing sequences on film. There's a lot of 'real' climbing on film, but very few good 'acted' climbing put on film. The story is incredible in itself. But, mixed with great climbing scenes, makes this a first rate film to watch, especially if you're a climber or wannabe. The climbing scenes in 'Cliff Hanger' is a joke. 'The Eiger Sanction' is pretty good climbing.
