  • The DVD is good enough to have though. It completes the picture.

I initially bought a box set of the God Fathers and found that they all referred to the same group of hoodlums and keep reffering to one mysterious organiser called Lucky Luciano. On buying the DVD I found that there was not much that was different from what I watched on all the others; especially regarding Bugsy Siegel. I was expecting to see a lot of action from the chairman himself compared to the rest but that was missing.Perhaps there should also have been more on the influence of Arnold Rothstein on the organisation that was born from his trainee hoodlums. That is also missing. Overall, I had no surprises from the DVD but I recommend it for one who wishes to have a set on the Mafya. Picture and sound quality was not disappointing considering the times these men lived.

Though he used muscle or murder at times to enforce his will, he relied on his smarts to create the criminal juggernaut which we know as "Organized Crime" and which was ultimately destroyed by lesser men to the nothingness we know today, which has returned to the common street urchin and sneak thieves we ...
