    Genuine replacement part at reduced price works for me

    This went on my B&S 6HP walk behind. (Model 917.387370) This recoil spring w/rope pulley works fine, it is OEM after all but, you must alter the "hook" position on the end of the spring so it catches the tab in the housing properly. Therefore a one star deduction. After you get that sweet spot figured out, I recommend spraying motorcycle chain lube on the spring for rust resistance and longevity before buttoning it all up.

    Which number - educated guess - looks the same

    It would be nice - when over the years the models change - that Briggs and others - would display the appropriate replacement numbers - instead of having to figure well this replaced that so now this replaces that - and make an educated guess or matching pictures. All said and done - it was one needed and worked like a charm.

    New part....

    An out of site utilitarian part. Getting to it was the most difficult part as there was much shrouding on the engine and random snowblower parts that needed to be removed. Rewinding the pull cord was a bit fiddly... Youtube is your friend
