The OCZ RevoDrive 3 120 GB Interal SSD PCI-Express is the ultimate solution to your storage needs. The RevoDrive 3 is a solid state drive designed with the workstation users and power users in mind wherein the I/O performance of a drive significantly affects productivity. In the OCZ RevoDrive 3 PCI-Express, the SATA bottleneck has been eliminated. Because of this elimination, the RevoDrive 3 offers astounding 1GB per second of bandwidth as well as 130,000 4KB random write IOPS, which makes this particular solid state drive ideal for intensive and bandwidth-demanding multithreaded workloads, workstation applications, and multimedia design. One of the unique features of the RevoDrive 3 PCI-Express is its employment of the Virtualized Controller Architecture (VCA) 2.0 from OCZ. The Virtualized Architecture Controller (VCA) 2.0 allows more features, such as smart data monitoring and TRIM support, which were previously non-existent in PCIe solutions. The Virtualized Controller Software 2.0 flash virtualization software permits some DMA, or direct memory access, as well as data management capabilities. The VCA 2.0 feature also gives the OCZ RevoDrive 3 unique command queuing abilities. It also allows for queue balancing algorithms, which can be handled by the built-in processing core that translates into higher performance and reduced workload for the host CPU. The OCZ RevoDrive 3 also has a Superscale storage accelerator that permits scalable solid state drive performance and noticeable reduction of the burden from the host CPU. This Superscale Storage Controller from OCZ mixes processing and full direct memory access (DMA) cores. It also integrates SATA, internal PCIe, and SAS interfaces. Another valuable offering of the OCZ RevoDrive 3 comes from its use of PCIe x4 Gen.2 interface. The OCZ RevoDrive 3 also uses 2 SandForce SF-2281 controllers with RAID 0 design, which further maximizes bandwidth and data access. This system design results in as much as three times faster performance for the OCZ RevoDrive 3 than SATA 6 GB per seconds solutions. The OCZ RevoDrive 3 goes as fast as 975 MB per seconds for read speed and 875 MB per second for write speed. It also has an amazing random write ability of up to 120,000 IOPS (4KB aligned)—all of this under workstation workload or HPC using a single card solution. The OCZ RevoDrive 3 has the ability to take as much advantage of the multithreaded software and processors. It also allows for an easy-to-deploy, large-capacity solution that can be booted on the operating system. The operating temperature of the OCZ RevoDrive 3PCI-Express solid state drive is 0 to 70 degree Celsius with storage temperature of -45 to 85 degree Celsius and a maximum shock resistance of 1500 grams. It measures 98.42mm in height, 167.64 mm in width, and 15.25 mm in depth, and it weighs 114 grams. The RevoDrive 3 series solid state drive from OCZ has a 120-GB capacity and MLC memory components. It is a high-performing solid state drive in the prosumer category that is equipped with an ECC recovery of up to 55 bits correctable per 512-byte sector, although this still varies depending on the device’s exact configuration.
