About this product

Product Information

With its variety of focal lengths ranging from 28 mm to 300 mm, the Sigma DG Macro has a maximum zoom of 10.7x for creating detailed, close-up pictures. This compact Sigma lens has a macro function to create clear images at a minimum focal distance of 19.7 inches. Its large aperture helps the photographer utilize maximum light in a wide range of environments, making the Sigma DG Macro appropriate for both indoor and outdoor photography. With Special Low Dispersion glass and featuring aspherical lenses, this 28 mm - 300 mm f/3.5-6.3 lens by Sigma also boasts a zoom lock to prevent the accidental changes that can occur with heavier lenses. The fast zooming function on the Sigma DG Macro lets the photographer change the focal length with just a quick touch, eliminating the need for multiple lenses and lens changes during a photography session. With f-stops ranging from 3.5 to 6.3, this 28 mm - 300 mm f/3.5-6.3 lens creates a 1:3 reproduction ratio when used for close-ups. While this all-purpose Sigma lens features a coating that eliminates the lens flare and ghosting of digital photography, it is suitable for traditional film SLR cameras, as well.

  • Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 for Nikon

This lens was made for both Nikon/Canon cameras (& others). The reason I bought it was to replace a similar model which a "ham-fistd" cousin thinking it was STUCK, twisted the focusing ring thinking it was the zoom AND promptly broke it. It still automacally focuses. On eBay I purchased another under $100 which seemed to snap into focus much quicker!!! This has been a workhorse and at that price is a real bargain on my Nikon D70 & D90. Anyone on a budget or JUST STARTING would be smart to buy this lens if they couldn't afford a newer higher-priced model.

  • an all around good lens

this lens is just an all around good lens the focus is a little slow but takes great pics and stay on my camera (sony a380) about 90% of the time great for portaits and general shooting i would not recomend this for sports. How ever with my 2.0 teleconverter it will shoot a f64 SOOOOO nice for landscape i would recomend this lens for anyone wanting just an all around general pupose lens.

  • Sigma Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto 28-300mm

I bought the Sigma Zoom lens 28-300mm, and immediately was impressed with the photos I could take from a far without disturbing nature, which it's the reason why I bought it. I am not a professional by any means, but I would recommend this lens to any one still interested in film taking pictures. It's not noisy at all and allows you to take great pictures. It was immediately delivered upon payment, looking forward to do business again.

  • sigma was great working order.

performs like a champ. Not a problem with the performance and ease of operations. great lens to own and takes a wide range of telephoto. I espicially like the light and versitllity of the lens.

  • Excellent lens for the outdoors

The lens covers so much from wide angle out to tele-photo and what I like best is that this large zoom compared pretty close to my collection of Canon "L" lens covering the same distance. An excellent choice for a single walk around lens. scudder2332
