I have tried a few other floating themometers but all seemed to leak. This inkbird wireless thermometer has great range and does not appear to leak. I am extremely pleased.

waste of money
Since taking it out of the package and folowing the set up instructions, it was very fickle of whether it would work or not. The last few days it has not. nothing I have done will change the readout of the sending unit from Celsius and the remote unit will not pick up the tempature no matter how close it is. Very disappointing and a waste of money

The unit worked for a few months, but ultimately, the floating housing allowed water to infiltrate. I was cautious to make sure the o-ring seal was well-aligned and the top firmly threaded to the body. Still, it leaked and ruined the internal electronics. I opened it up and dried it out for a couple of days (unpowered of course). When I reinstalled the fresh batteries, the display lit up and I was hopeful. But all it shows is error codes. Now I'm left with an indoor receiver that has no data coming to it, but it does show indoor temperature. Useless. I love these Inkbird Pool/Spa Thermometers!
[No Review Offered for my Inkbird Bluetooth/Cell Phone Model, but here's a review for it and I'll update this after WiFi one this review is for after a week of testing.] I'm using this Inkbird Pool/Hot Tub Thermometer on my Bestway Saluspa... Helsinki Hot Tub because when I use a calibrated thermometer when the Spa reads 104* F, I found it was actually about 2* to 3* F Hotter and in Winter w/snow it would get colder faster than it showed. I found the reason was that the Air Jets were blowing cold air into it in Winter. So I built a Styrofoam box to enclose it and scoop air off the top of the spa when jets were on. Now since buying this (Engbird in the Phone App) Bluetooth thermometer w/ both a Cold and hot Alarm setting, I can time when it's at it's peak of 105.7* F and with it's ... You do have to be close by maybe 30 to 40 ft outside and 20 to 30 feet inside the house. But it's all I need. Remember keep it tight after changing batteries and I found tethering it to the pump housing keeps it near optimum temp sampling. Plus when we put floating lights that settle with in the center of the Tub... it doesn't end up breaking breaking them as it is weighted heavy!
