These don't work well in 'active' mode. I bought them to replace failed TIP142 in a simple regulated power supply. Unfortunately, 4 out of 5 failed the same way: they shortened internally base-emitter junction of the first transistor so overall current gain dropped from 1000 to about 40 and it couldn't drive the load anymore. Buying the same TIP142 from Mouser solved the problem at once so watch out. Pictures of the two attached, the one on top works, the one at the bottom kept failing

Received item with one acrylic side piece broken. I should have taken a picture and sent the whole thing back immediately but I tried to make it work by supergluing. During assembly found the PCB was only trimmed to size on 3/4 sides, broke more acrylic figuring that out. Documentation doesn’t give physical dimensions and does not warn that you may need to trim further.
Seller disbelieves that I received broken item, alleges all issues are simply due to poor assembly. Poor customer service.
