I am in the process of converting my Diamondback Overdrive into a fitness/commuter. This mod completes the BIG three for me...Seat, Grips and tires. I installed the grips before the "Big Apple tires", and I noticed a remarkable difference in comfort. Much better feel and not at all bulky. This mod coupled with the tires and saddle upgrades has made such a difference in my workouts. I thought it was a corny upgrade at first, but it is well worth the investment in my opinion. Ergonomics, yes!
These grips, well installed, provide two very distinct arm positions. For me, using the stubs, is my position for climbing, and out of saddle efforts. On the normal position, the rubber pads provide extra surface area to relieve pressure and vibration.
