    Fair scanner, but be warned.

    So much I didn't know about barcode scanners. There are multiple versions of this product, so be SURE which model (beyond DS6707) you need. Also be sure to download the Zebra configuration software. My application required QR code scans and it wasn't apparent how I needed the barcode scanner setup. Discovered pretty much through trial and error (the barcode scanner can emulate a keyboard). As to this particular purchase and this product, it functions well, though perhaps a tad slow for QR codes (very noticeable difference between 1D-linear barcodes and 2D barcodes such as QR and Data Matrix).     Good value for 2D reader

    Functions as designed out of the box. For some reason, Zebra's configuration application does not recognize this particular model within the DS6707 (working to address that with Zebra). Did find a means online to disable the ^b^u characters appended to the output by default using configuration codes for the LS2208. That's made the difference for my application.

    !!! WARNING !!! You might break it

    In the product reference manual (not included, but searchable online in PDF form), there is an option called "Fast HID Keyboard." DO NOT SCAN THIS OPTION!!! Upon doing so, the unit immediately turns off and won't turn back on again, EVER! Two units I received have been rendered useless this way. Other than that, it works fine. Note that many of these units have a Ctrl+K, Ctrl+U key combination prefix baked into the firmware, meaning that this combination of keys is pressed before the actual data is typed in. Someone on a forums site has managed to fix this quite easily. Google is your friend.

    scanner works great, cord i got is wonky...

    scanner works great, cord i got is wonky and took me a minute to figure out, under the strain relief the cord is lacerated so i might cut that section out and replace the 8p8c (ethernet) connector (look up the pinout as there's a jumper between pins 1 and 6 i think), can't complain much for 20 bucks on a 2d scanner, very fun and decoded my driver's license pdf417 barcode, ups QR code, and several others, device setup in the manual is either ambiguous or i don't know what i'm doing
