Just like its was made for my RIA M1911-FS
Pistol used on: RIA M1911-FS with factory pre-cut G10 grips Pro's 1, Solid single piece all metal,well it;s MIM but seems very solid and durable 2. Black finish matches pistol finish. 3. Fits snug to bottom of frame, just a minor transition gap between base of grips and top of mag well. 4. Hooks fit tight over grip screw bushings, 2 or 3 taps with a rubber mallet and it's secure as you can get. 5. Taper accommodates RIA factory and Checkmate mags with a tapered base. (The CM's you can find in 5 packs very reasonably priced) 6. Taper ease's mag change, no banging mags against bottom of frame if you a little off center or at a angle to the butt helps guide mag into well.smoothly 7.With pre-cut grips, all you need is an Allen wrench/ (on a RIA 1911 anyway) and maybe a rubber mallet. 8. ... Enough of an 8 round mag is exposed at the lead of the well to pull out a hung empty mag using 2 fingers.barring any serious damage has been done to the mag 9. The inside edge of the magwell is flush with the inside of the frame well and and tapers out, if your mag will go in the frame's well, it will be no problem passing through this magwell into it. Cons: 1. Its really snug, may be difficult to remove. 2. If your mags have a base plate, it needs to be tapered, a square base plate either has to be short, or be tapered by grinding top edge to a taper with a tool like a Dremel, when buying mags to use with this item, make sure you check what base is on them, I bought my spare mags first, them compared the base plate taper to the factory 8 rnd to be sure it was no wider or longer than factory where it would seat. This one's not really a con on the magwell, just something to be aware of The grips need to be scored out if you don't have pre-cut grips, I did, but they needed to be routed out a bit more (have to be sure they are deep enough for grips to sit flush against frame or grip may crack when screwed down or over time as it acts as a lever if not relived deep enough)

Solid Go-To Mag Well
It's exactly what it says it is. Simple and direct. I've used this type of mag well in the past. For 18 bucks, you can't go wrong. Note, I don't know about you, but I, personally, always sand down the inside of the grips so they fit right up against the frame again, as you may have a space, depending on your grips. Just put the grips along the side of the mag well, draw around the area they cover with a pencil, and then bust out your handy dandy dremel and take the area inside the pencil marks down about the thickness of the hooked sides of the mag well. It's exactly what it says it is. Simple and direct. I've used this type of mag well in the past. For 18 bucks, you can't go wrong. Good product. It seems solid and of good quality. It fits snugly on my Springfield 1911, but it does make it so the drips don't fit tight to the frame. I could probably remove some of the grip material on the back to have it fit better or just ignore the space. It depends on how I want to use it. Not the product's fault, just the reality of an addition like this.
