It's spray paint Ina marker. Don't waste your money, just get flat black spray paint for $3 and use a Q Tip to dab it on the spots you need. Seller is great but the product is a complete rip off.

It's good
It may say gun blue but it is black. A near perfect match on powder coated surfaces not just on guns. Goes on easy and dries fast to a flat black color. If you don't want to go thru and of the chemical blueing processes this is a nice alternative.

Great Concept, Poor Materials
I purchased this item as I needed to do touch up on metal surfaces on my firearms that were presenting with scratches on the black metal surfaces. After reading the instructions and following them, I opened up the pen to begin work. The felt tip fell out of the pen and I had to reinsert the tip and tried to get the ink to flow. It was to no avail after multiple attempts. Pen was dry as a the desert and then I followed the instructions on what to do when the pen is dry to reanimate the ink/paint. Again NO LUCK! Basically I think it was an old stock piece that needed to have been thrown away instead of being pawned off on eBay to a buyer. Will go back to thin tip paint brushes, or air brushes to apply the ink/paint like originally I had been doing. That’s what I get for trying the easy way. ... Nicely packaged but weak on features.
This product is a "Sharpie-like" paint pen with a reciprocating tip. Has promise but has problems to overcome. First, it is an extremely expensive way to buy basic flat black paint. The convenience of having it in pen dispenser disappears when it is actually used. The tip is a broad, chisel-shaped hard felt that doesn't apply the paint in a controlled manner. Blobs on and is difficult to apply smoothly. Also, even though I used the "flat" black pen, the paint dried to a shiny almost gloss finish and did NOT match my AR receiver's finish at all. I would avoid this expensive paint system. There is a MUCH better choice that works great, matches ALL parkerized finishes and is very cheap as you by a large spray can of it at about the same price as this pen. Get flat black and you'll have a lifetime supply of the best "black gun" touch-up refinishing paint available.

Bluing pen
The product is good if you are using it on an aluminum type metal or plastic, but steel. So it works fine for me and the bow cam that marred, but if you are trying to fix a weapon I recommend a gun smith.

not a good touch up pen at all
Ordered this touch up pen with great expectations that it would be good to touch up imperfections on my electronic gear. What happens is the paint in the pen gets clogged and it doesn't flow, and when it does flow , it comes out to thick in consistency, which is overkill for a touch up. I've had better results using a Sharpie black marker. the thick conisistency of the paint is a huge problem, it also causes the pen to clump up.
