Pro's. 1. Crystal clear sound. Crisp highs, good mids/lows. These are very clean and accurate sounding speakers. 2. Relatively low cost. This set cost me about $75. The other components I compared them to ran about $200. 3. Easy to install. Crossovers built into the wiring and are fairly small, there is no crossover box to have to worry about mounting and getting in the way of the power windows if you put them in a door. 4. Multiple options for installing the tweeters right out of the box. Several mounting positions and depths. 5. Excellent value for the money. Once I got them in my truck and the headunit set for them, I did NOT feel like I should have bought the more expensive ones. I felt like I got my money's worth. Con's. 1. Tweeters are a bit loud. No adjustable crossover to turn them down a bit from the factory setting, but the adjustment at the head unit works well for that. Pioneer premier head unit, -3 on the "highs" eq setting. 2. They do not give huge boomy bass like some of the more expensive components do. I keep the headunit's highpass filter on at 63hz which seems to eliminate all low end distortion from affecting the midrange sounds. The only components that handled the low end better were about $200 a pair. 3. The plastic on the mounting brackets could be a bit more durable. I broke one of the mounts while trying to open it and reposition the tweeter.. Twist and pull, the cases are not held on with "clips". 4. The factory wire crimp ends were a little loose. Had to pinch the ends down so they would clip and hold on to the speaker terminals better. All told, I was and still am very happy with my decision to purchase these speakers. I am glad I went with the components for the fronts. I have not replaced my back speakers yet, but another set of these will be my first choice. Im running Pioneer premir DEH-p6100BT a single 10" kicker comp CVR dual 2ohm VC @4ohms on a VX900D amp in a sealed box with the LPF at 100hz, the subsonic at 20, and although its far from the loudest system I've ever had, its definatley become the cleanest sounding in terms of sound quality. By the time I replace the eclipse rears, I fully expect it to sound better than the bose systems and infinity systems do.Read full review
I would recommend this component set to almost everybody. It comes with everything you need to properly mount and looks great as well. They are able to handle a decent amount of power, but a lot is not needed to make them sound outstanding. I installed them in the front door factory holes in a 2000 maxima se. The tweeters were installed in the factory A location above the front dash. The tweeters sound as good as any others you can buy on the market, and the woofers deliver a crisp, clean sounding midrange sound. I have 75 watts rms going to each side right now, and they handle it fine. The only problem with this set is they cant handle a lot of power, but the 50-75 range pushes these to a very high performance. I have installed Alpine Type S throughout my car, along with Alpine CDA-9847 head unit and CDA-5755 digital, and I am very impressed with the overall sound quality. And I replaced a complete bose system with a factory 8" sub, and they are not even in the same league as the alpines! Also, I like the set-up of this system. Most component sets have a box crossover than is hard to mount and causes some distortion. These have bass blockers connected in the wiring, and a filter mounted on the woofer (very convenient).Read full review
I love the Aline total quality. The build, the slim mount, the sound quality, everything about this speaker is awesome. They mounted perfectly in my 2008 Subaru WRX using the included adapter rings. The sound quality is mind blowing. The mids are dead perfect and the highs are strong and clear without being over whelming. Not to mention they can handle up to 80 watts RMS.
Once again, I have many good things to say about the company that manufactures these speakers. They are indeed top of the line for the price the buyer pays for them. The Alpine SPS-600's provide good bass and full mids. The built in tweeters output some good highs as well. Also, they can be tilted and rotated to "move" the sound around. These speakers can handle some of the really low frequency bass that I've put through them. I've evaluated their performance using tracks from DJ Billy E and his songs are capable of blowing out cheap speakers that can't handle the lows. There's nothing bad that I can say about these speakers, they do exactly what I want them to do and comfort your ears. They won't tire you out when you're exposed to them for long periods of time and will give the buyer the utmost satisfaction for the price paid. Overall, these are some wonderful speakers. They will improve the bass in your vehicle and give you fuller mids and highs! They will keep the buyer a happy customer. I rate these speakers a 5/5.Read full review
These speakers are the best quality for the price. Installation is super easy and fast. These also sound fantastic on both the highs and lows- very clear sound. These speakers are also very versatile- they accommodate every type of music very well. Alpine did a great job on this one. If you're goal is great everyday listening without breaking the bank, these speakers are the way to go!!!
