Just the kit for your GM distributor!

In short, I needed a new ignition for my 30 year old Ford F-150 (broken tabs and no more computer to control the advance). I found the answer ... someone had adapted a GM coil-in-the-cap distributor to a Ford 300 six ... awesome! One wire, vacuum and mechanical advance all for $90. Problem, the distributor needed to be set up for an old straight six engine. This kit did the trick. I actually was trying to take out some of the advance and get it more to where a stock engine would be. There are three sets of springs and a set of weights. With this kit, I think most people can set up their distributor to get the maximum advance without hitting the point where the engine "pings". I have seem a couple of kits ... this one seems to be one of the better ones ... quality of the items is ...

    • Top critical review

It is a good kit just needs a little work to make it fit the pins on the distributer

After finding the bushing it needed I pressed it in to place in the arm and when I tried to put it back on the pin it would no longer fit. Was not a hard fix but you would think they would take in to consideration by pressing the bushing in the arm would shrink the hole thus making it not fit on the pin. Anyway I took a very small piece of sand paper and rolled it and sanded the hole back out.

    • Best curve kit for hei

If you have an old GM hei or even a Chinese knock off hei. A Moroso hei curve kit is a must.I usually use the middle springs. All out race cars will take the light weight ones. While rv's and how rigs may like the heavy springs. Also these bushings are hard to find alone. The only negative is no picture of correct weight and center orientation.Get out your cell phone and take a pic of the old wieghts and center first. It will save ya.Google it and you will see some on backwards ....

    • An okay product.

This product is a good product, but not for my application; it worked however in the Chrysler marine distributor; I only used the springs. I can't say more than that because I didn't use them for what they were intended

    • Good quality at a good price.

With multiple sets of springs you can choose the one that’s correct for your application.
