Dodged the "Shipping Bullet" just barely guys ... Who's Idea was it to plasti wrap boxes into bundle while freely setting (them loose) on the 48" pallet? Had box crushed on the coil side. luckily it was only 3 inches pushed in. Fell over? Who knows? Four inches in would have bent the cage as well as coils. Hope troubles end there, eh?

2 zone air/heat unit
We have a house in the desert, where temps in the summer can exceed 115 degrees. We wanted to replace the old air units we had, so I started looking at these 2 zone air and heat units. We needed to get 2- 2 zone units because we had 4 rooms we wanted to install in. It took my husband 2 days (he's got a bum hand) to get all 4 installed, then we had the A/C guy come charge the lines, and presto!!!! Not only are they keeping the home cool, but a Arizona monsoon storm knocked out the power, and they resumed when power was back on. (paperwork said it would....lol) The house is on a slab, and because of the way it's built these units were by far the best option. There's no duct work involved, just had to wire the outside condenser to indoor units on the wall. My outside pics were taken before it ... If I'd only known
This system was neatly packaged and arrived in good condition. I hauled it to my remote cabin in the hills of Western North Carolina where I installed it. Only when I started to evacuate the lines and evaporator did I notice that the gauge ports were NOT the standard 1/4 inch flare fittings. This was my first experience with a mini-split so I didn't know about the fitting size. It took me an extra day and a trip to Grainger in Asheville to get an adapter to fit my gauges and vacuum pump. After pumping down, the installation was simple with the pre-charged outdoor unit for specified line length. The units provided some cozy warmth. I assume they will also cool when the weather gets warmer. I also wish there was some information as to topping off the refrigerant in case of a leak, ... Although really not meant for homeowners to complete on there own, these are easy for a qualified technician to install. The warranty/guarantee certainly requires the installer to be licensed for it to qualify for the stated coverage. I recommend purchasing them yourself and hiring the technician for their labor. Approximately 1 day of labor for a dual zone system such as this. Have installed several brands, including multiple of these units. They work as advertised and very quiet.Although really not meant for homeowners to complete on there own, these are easy for a qualified technician to install.
