I enjoy feeding the birds... especially in the winter! I HATE feeding the Squirrels -- they are Not blocked by squirrel-proof bird feeders! I haven't had the seed out for long, but it SEEMS like the squirrels aren't into it...otherwise it would be EMPTY in a DAY... now it takes a week!! I bought one 'squirrel-proof feeder' with a metal fence around a plastic area that held the seed...they ATE through the plastic. And, of course, the company that sold it to me on Ebay said that wasn't covered by their 1 year warranty (I had only bought it a few weeks earlier). SO.... I cut a plastic water bottle to fit as a sleeve inside the bird-seed area and it seems to be working better. I have another 'squirrel-proof' bird feeder that is spring-loaded. Supposidly if a squirrel sits on the perch, it will close the gate...it doesn't close when SMALL squirrels perch!! I even have the squirrel proof things on my posts! They are worthless when you want the feeder to be BY a Privacy fence that the squirrels run along.Read full review

This seed works for me the squirrels (fox and gray) don't bother my feeders that have Flaming Hot seed. It's a little expensive but it lasts longer since the squirrels aren't helping to empty the feeders. Their suet blocks work too.
