What is Fructose?
Fructose is a natural sugar substitute derived from fruit. It tastes very close to sugar, and it doesn't have the nasty bitter aftertaste of most other non-sugar sweeteners. In fact, it has a very nice "cool" flavor. And it's slightly sweeter than sugar, which means you don't have to use so much of it. Fructose for daily use
Great product to have a sweetener that can be used in place of table sugar. Looks exactly like sugar and tastes the same. it has a low glycemic index of 19 as opposed to raw sugar's 65. Can be used for low temperature application like warm oatmeal. Drawback is that it cannot be used for high temperature baking as it loses its sweetness. Most importantly, it is not the same as High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) which has a high glycemic index 80. Note all the values quoted are approximate. Less is more with Now fructose.
