    The item made it quick from Japan. The seller carefully the box and reinforced it with cardboard. The box shows light signs of having been shipped across the pacific (bend), no crease, the cardboard IS crisp, the booklet pristine, the controller shows no signs of use, a slight blemish from rubbing against the cord for 30years, the twist-tie and label on the chord perfect. This is truly a NEW 30 years old controller as described! And it was the cheapest on eBay! Amazing!

    User friendly simplicity.

    If you're a little bit mechanically inclined this will be easy to install & setup. Good value, seems well designed & super easy for me to use. Mind you this unit just the basics. No GPS or those types bells & whistles. Purchased for mountain biking application so I didn't want anything too complicated or expensive.

    OK but not an improvement over the model 300.

    I like to use the Cateye for its odometer to maintain a service schedule on each of my bikes. For all other computations, I use a Garmin Edge 1000. However, I really preferred the model 300 Cateye as it uses 2032 batteries in both the sender and the receiving unit while the 310 requires 2 different batteries, the 2032 & the 1616. The 1616 battery in the head unit makes it slimmer but not enough to warrant having to keep in stock both sizes of batteries, hence the 3 star rating.
