WHY YOU SHOULD BUY A MOTOROLA CDM-1550!
A MOTOROLA CDM-1550 is one of Motorola's best radios built to 3 "MIL-SPEC" standards. Even the low power versions (25W) offer OUTSTANDING transmitter audio and decent receiver sensitivity as well. There is PLENTY of "clear speaker audio" and MANY options from the rear AUX jack. IMPORTANT! Like many radios the 1550 was built with different "band splits". Be SURE you buy the split you need... Also to minimize costs hunt for a radio with a mike and power cord. Even better if the sale includes a mobile mounting bracket. Once your 1550 is programmed YOU are good to go! Best if you have a friend program for you and know "programming" requires special "Motorola CPS" Software and a cable. With these two items you CAN program your own 1550 but there is a learning curve. YOUTUBE offers very decent tutoring! Finally, like most communications radios ~ a DECENT antenna/radio match (SWR) is a "must" to help prevent radio overheating. Power reflected "back to the radio" is dissipated by the RADIO heat-sink... NOT good.
