    Honda OEM Oil Filter [is patented for a reason]

    This product is a good oil filter. I chose to use OEM oil filters over the aftermarket products that can be found in stores such as: Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts. The reasoning behind this is: the oil filter is a patented product from the manufacturer. The engine was designed using the OEM oil filter. If I decide to use an aftermarket oil filter, I may be doing a disservice to my engine because the aftermarket part will be different than the patented product. So this means, the aftermarket part is not permitted to be designed and created as a replica of the OEM. This means that my engine is not using a component that was originally engineered for the HONDA engine. So that could be detrimental to my engine's life - in the long run. Now whether or not the user will own the car ...
