The original remote lasted a couple years. I like the backlit feature of this new remote that turns on when you pick the remote up. The metal front face also gives it a good feel, as compared to the all plastic original. This item was in excellent condition, as it was new. It was well packed, and was offered at a good price. I am happy with this purchase.
