For a home laser printer I think this might be the best one that you can find. I did all my research app and this being a laser printer will yield lots and lots of copies also I love the two-sided feature and using the brother utilities you can scan into folders and easily email somewhere so it pretty much does everything your office will need

I know this printer for 2 years. This is to replace another. Price "new, unboxed" seemed great at $180 (new around +$260). Received okay but this is refurbished and was groaning and grinding as soon as I plugged it in! Bottom line, out of all the functions, scanning, copying, auto feeder on top, etc....it ONLY works as a printer. So I bought a refurbished, single function printer only. Oh yeah, all the error lights stay on and it never goes to sleep like the new model. But it prints fine. When will I learn? As soon as I get over my sorrow I will start looking for new one, same model. I guess I will let toner run out then rebuy at loss.

When I saw the price and advanced features of this printer, I decided it was time to replace our 13 year-old huge HP laser printer. Setup was easy and each of the features - print, scan, copy, and scan - work well. The duplex color or black-and-white scanning capability works well, as does the double-sided black-only laser printing capability. One major flaw is that the one-sheet override tray for a manual paper feed is impossible to line up with an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper such that printing is not skewed. Skewing happens about 9 out of 10 times regardless of the care and effort I take to line up a sheet being fed and regardless of paper weight. Skewed printing also happens with envelopes fed via the override tray. I've concluded that I should only use the main 250-sheet cassette tray for 8.5" x 11" printing, which would be problematic in a shared environment, and to accept the print skewing for envelopes. For a home or small office that only needs to laser print in black but also needs a good duplex sheet fed scanner I think this is a decent pick for the money.Read full review

Compare to the equivalent like MFC-L6800DW 2) The break thru of duplex that the roller only going thru the paper one time, Therefore the chance to change the fuse (150-200$) tis very less.
